BioPet Vet Lab Results - Levels Explained

When a customer receives the Ancestry Analysis Certificate for their dog, the breeds that make up their pet are presented in five different levels, depending on the amount of DNA present. The levels are defined below:
  • Level 1: Over 75% of the DNA found in your dog is from the breed listed.
  • Level 2: Each breed listed represents between 37-74% of your dog’s DNA
  • Level 3: Each breed listed represents between 20-36% of your dog’s DNA
  • Level 4: Each breed listed represents between 10-19% of your dog’s DNA
  • Level 5: Each breed listed represents less than 10% of your dog’s DNA.
As always, if you have questions about the test or your results, contact Happy Dog DNA using the contact page at www.HappyDogDNA.com.

You should try Wisdom Panel. Detects WAAAAY more breeds. 157 actually. The more breeds, the more accurate. BioPet only detects 62. There are so many more dogs in the world than 62.

Just thought you should know that there are more accurate tests out there with more breeds.

I agree that Wisdom Panel detects more breeds. It also costs significantly more than BioPet and requires a veterinarian supervised blood draw which further drives up the overall cost.

This test detects the most common breeds. Unless you have a really rare breed, chances are it is in here. I looked at their breeds and couldn't really think of otherso nes without really having to think about it.

I would like to see the Anatolian Shepherd breed added to the list. They are starting to be quite prolific in the states. They have such large litters that they now are showing up in shelters and are now crossing with other breeds. I am anxious to get my kit and see what makes up my rescue dog. I will send pictures after I get my results. Thanks
